Ping pong or table tennis is a very fast game. As the tiny plastic ball is driven from one side to the other side of the table at lightning speed, a player has a fraction of a second to react and propel the ball back to his or her opponent; indeed it is an ultimate test of agility and body coordination. So who exactly are those in the threat of having skin cancer? People who have already
experienced three or more bad cases of sunburn before reaching the age of twenty and
regular sunbathers who always crave for an instant tan have greater risks of acquiring the
dreaded skin disease known as melanoma. Cricketers, farmers, golf players and others,
who have long exposure to the sun, have more tendencies to have milder forms of skin
cancer.

So after learning how the body reacts to sunlight here is some information on how to
prevent its harmful effect.

Ironically, studies on skin care show that Vitamin D, with the help of sunlight exposure,
is what can help the body combat skin cancer.

So how does one go out in the open without the paranoia of cancer haunting him?
Dermatologists suggest the use of sunscreens.

Researches showed that exposure to sunlight sans sunscreen should be less than 10 to 15
minutes at noon, while the sun is at its strongest. Using a sunscreen with an SPF or sun
protection of 15 or higher is recommended. People with sensitive skin and the older
adults should use an SPF of 30 or stronger because their skin tends to burn more easily.

If sun exposure will be particularly high, using a stronger sunscreen like zinc or titanium

Sunscreen application should be about half an hour before getting exposed into the sun
and reapplication should be done every few hours. And when going swimming, one
should know that 98 percent of the sun’s rays can pass through water, so without some
kind of “water-resistant” sun screen and frequent applications, sunburn might be
inevitable.

The skin is meant to protect and shield one from the threats of the environment so unless
one properly cares for it, it won’t do its job that well.

The Obama backed Federal loan modification program that will bring $75 billion for homeowners who are facing foreclosure is said to be able to help a lot of homeowners.

Specifically, the plan is slated to help 3 to 4 million homeowners, and the $75 billion will go directly to homeowners to help them with avoiding foreclosure through loan modifications. Loan modifications or mortgage modifications allow homeowners to drastically reduce their interest rate, drop their principal, and even halt foreclosure proceedings.

he $75 billion in this Obama Federal Federal Loan Modification Plan, the money is being used to lower mortgage interest rates to 3-4% and even in some cases as low as 2%.

For the homeowners to be eligible for a 2% loan modification rate, their total income needs to be equal to 31% of the mortgage price, so this is only for extreme cases where homeowners have either 1) lost their jobs 2) seen a huge increase in interest rates or 3) have a very expensive home.

Epidemiology of Medicare abuse: the example of power wheelchairs.

OBJECTIVES: To determine the effect of neighborhood ethnic composition on medical scooters prescriptions. DESIGN: The 5% noncancer sample of Medicare recipients in the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER)-Medicare linked database, from 1994 to 2001. SETTING: SEER regions. PARTICIPANTS: Individuals covered by Medicare living in SEER regions without a cancer diagnosis. MEASUREMENTS: Individual characteristics (age, sex, ethnicity, justifying diagnosis, and comorbidity), primary diagnoses, neighborhood characteristics (percentage black, percentage Hispanic, percentage with <12 years education, and median income), and SEER region. RESULTS: The rate of power wheelchair prescriptions was 33 times greater in 2001 than in 1994, with a shift over time from justifying diagnoses more closely tied to mobility impairment, such as strokes, to less-specific medical diagnoses, such as osteoarthritis. In multilevel, multivariate analyses, individuals living in neighborhoods with higher percentages of blacks or Hispanics were more likely to receive power wheelchairs (odds ratios=1.09 for each 10% increase in black residents and 1.23 for each 10% increase in Hispanic residents) after controlling for ethnicity and other characteristics at the individual level. CONCLUSION: These results support allegations that marketers promoting power wheelchairs and handicap scooters have specifically targeted minority neighborhoods
